Hi there! I’m Alexis.

I am as passionate about this mission of mine as I am about the God who called me to it! As a wife, mom, and a woman who has found healing from my broken past, I am here to tell you that you can change your story too!
My mission here at Mended Mom is to walk this path of parenting together as we work to change the legacy of dysfunction in our families.
Having grown up in a broken and dysfunctional family myself, I know first hand how hard it can be to break the bad habits we learn growing up.
But I also know that there is a way to parent our little loves that doesn’t involve blaming, shaming, punishment, and all the negative things we may have dealt with.
There is a way to create a healthy and loving home for our families while still providing appropriate limits that respect the personhood and boundaries of every individual in our families – including the littlest members.
Overcoming Our Own Struggles
Believe me when I say, I totally understand that change is hard. I never intend to minimize the challenges you will face as you work hard to make positive change in your family.
I have spent the last several years working through my issues and it’s an ongoing work in progress. Even though things have gotten a lot easier the more work I’ve done, I still have days that I just can’t seem to get it together.
I still lose my temper with my kids on the regular. And I still have a natural tendency to revert back to my most basic instincts – reacting out of anger – when I feel a loss of control.
I’m not here as the “perfect” parent trying to tell you all the ways you’re failing and how you could be doing better.
I’m here as the still flawed, daily-working-on-myself, not there yet parent who wants to walk beside you as we learn and grow together on this journey of parenthood.
My goal isn’t to be perfect or to make you perfect. My goal is simply to create a community of like-minded moms who want nothing more than to do the best we can, to learn from each other, to support and build one another up, and to create lasting friendships that will help us each become the person God intended for us to be.
Here’s to building strong and healthy families together!
